Kanbanz Integration
Connect Deskuss with Kanbanz to synchronize your helpdesk tickets with Kanban boards for powerful visual project management.
What is Kanbanz?
Kanbanz is a WordPress Kanban board plugin designed for project management and task visualization. It allows teams to organize work into boards, columns, and cards — providing a drag-and-drop interface for tracking progress from "To Do" through "In Progress" to "Done."
With Kanbanz, teams can:
- Create unlimited boards for different projects or workflows
- Customize columns to match their process stages
- Assign cards to team members with due dates and labels
- Track progress visually across the entire project lifecycle
Integration Overview
The Deskuss + Kanbanz integration acts as a bridge between your helpdesk ticketing system and your Kanban project boards. When enabled, tickets in Deskuss are automatically linked to cards in Kanbanz — ensuring that every support request is tracked alongside your team's broader project work.
Ticket Event Synchronization
When the integration is active, the following ticket events in Deskuss automatically update the corresponding Kanbanz card:
| Deskuss Event | Kanbanz Action |
|---|---|
| Ticket Created | A new Kanbanz card is created in the designated board and column |
| Ticket Assigned | The Kanbanz card is assigned to the corresponding team member |
| Ticket Status Changed | The Kanbanz card is moved to the matching column (e.g., Open → "In Progress", Closed → "Done") |
| Ticket Closed | The Kanbanz card is moved to the "Done" column and marked as completed |
| Ticket Priority Changed | The Kanbanz card label is updated to reflect the new priority |
Status Mapping
Deskuss and Kanbanz use different terminology for statuses. The integration maps them as follows by default, and you can customize these mappings in the settings:
| Deskuss Status | Kanbanz Column (Default) |
|---|---|
| Open | To Do |
| Answered | In Progress |
| Closed | Done |
| Overdue | Urgent / Flagged |
Bidirectional Sync
The integration is fully bidirectional — changes flow from Deskuss to Kanbanz and from Kanbanz back to Deskuss.
Deskuss → Kanbanz
- When a ticket status changes in Deskuss, the linked Kanbanz card moves to the corresponding column
- When a ticket is assigned to a staff member in Deskuss, the Kanbanz card is assigned to that user
- When a ticket is closed in Deskuss, the Kanbanz card is marked as completed
Kanbanz → Deskuss
- When a Kanbanz card is moved to a different column, the linked Deskuss ticket status updates accordingly
- Comments added to a Kanbanz card are synced to the Deskuss ticket as internal notes
- When a Kanbanz card is assigned to a new team member, the Deskuss ticket is reassigned to that agent
- Marking a Kanbanz card as completed closes the linked Deskuss ticket

Linking an Existing Kanbanz Card
If a Kanbanz card already exists for a ticket, you can link them manually:
- Open the ticket detail view in Deskuss
- Click the "Link Kanbanz Card" button
- Search for the card by title or ID
- Select the card to establish the link
Once linked, bidirectional sync begins immediately.
Unified Notification Stream
With the Kanbanz integration enabled, Deskuss consolidates notifications from both systems into a single stream, so your team never misses an update.
How Unified Notifications Work
- Ticket events (new ticket, status change, assignment) appear in both the Deskuss notification panel and the Kanbanz activity feed
- Kanbanz card events (card moved, comment added, card completed) are surfaced in the Deskuss notification panel
- Combined digest emails can be configured to include updates from both Deskuss and Kanbanz in a single email
Notification Settings
Configure unified notifications under Deskuss → Settings → Kanbanz Integration → Notifications:
| Setting | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Kanbanz events in Deskuss | Enabled | Show Kanbanz card updates in the Deskuss notification panel |
| Deskuss events in Kanbanz | Enabled | Show ticket updates in the Kanbanz activity feed |
